Movie freak OR freaked movies!!!

I am not a movie addict or movie freak gal, but I do watch movies sometimes. The last movie I watched was” NO ENTRY”, people won’t find it a good movie, because it’s another funny and humorous movie, with all the hubby-wife funny stuff, wives suspecting their husbands and husbands cheating their wives...
Well I am not going to discuss all that here; I watched a movie called SHABD few months back, in that movie the hero sent his wife to another guy, just to write a book on a real love story. That poor gal did what her husband wanted her to do, just to please him, when she almost fell for that guy, the husband began to get jealous and wanted her to come back, ridiculous!!! What the heck!!!
If I was in her shoes I would have kicked him and divorced him, but no!!! She is an Indian girl!!! How can I forget that, pati-vrata, sati-savitri .And how can a girl go against rituals and culture and wedding oaths!!! She has to serve her husband till death ... and, she has to go back to husband, no matter how he is, what he does!!!
Movies like this really freak me out.
Another movie was BEWAFAA , hated the end like anything , the girl in the movie sacrificed her love , dreams ,future for her sisters kids and married her bro-in-law . For the 3 yrs of the marriage he never looked at her, then suddenly she met her old lover and all old feelings started arousing again and she felt she still loves him. Then the hubby darling after 3 years recognized that he is not fair towards her and should love her and treat her as a wife, because she has done so many scarifies for him and his children, and what happens next???
She was asked to decide whether she wanted to go with her lover or wanted to stay back with her husband .As he was ready to change. So she decided to stay with her hubby!!! the guy, who didn’t even look at her for past 3 yrs. What a great Indian lady.....This is not what we girls are; this is actually what men want us to be!!
Well every 1 have their own way of thinking, but stories like this really freak me out and I think humorous movies are much better then shitty movies like SHABD and BEWAFA...
CHEERSSSSSSSSSSSSS

    Looks like someone's yelling !!

  • SHABD:
Love is selfless, there is no give n take, all it knows is to give, and give and give. The complete uncoditional faith is the first step to love.

If u luv someone, whether u r sati or savitry or whoever else, you wud keep loving ur partner. No matter what he thinks about u. What he expects from you. It has nothing to do wth ur culture, traditions and community,
They say it's just blind luv. But yes, luv is blind !! Else it's not luv. Luv is not 'i luv you and you luv me', it's NOT a desire to be irrestibly desired. It's a state to GIVE.

    BEWAFA:
she meets her old BF 3 yrs later and feelings start arousing !! lolol
    I dismiss it here.

Have u seen Murder ? how @ Hawas (meghna naidu)?
Where have the Satis and Savitries vanished !!

Have u seen a movie 'Jhansi ki raani' how @ Mother India.
Wasnt a women portrayed as idol in these !

Movies are movies. Leave them right there. They do exaggerate. They are not meant for taking any lessons, by n large.

I m looking fwd to 'No entry'.

  • Great post st000nie...gets us thinking if Indian girls r stuck in tradition even in this era...I think some of us r...

I saw Bewaffa too...I was disgusted at how Kareena had to 'scarifice' her life for her sis' family cos of culture...n that too for a cold-blooded brother-in-law. goshhh thats asking for too much from a human being! What I cant believe is why Bollywood is still making movies like these?? Does India still practise these out-of-date born-to-die-for-husband kinda attitude? I'm shocked...

I mean a woman has to love and respect her husband for life provided he too feels the same way abt his woman...like v000nie said Love is a state to GIVE...I like that alot. Love isnt so cheap that it hinders one's dreams n hopes just to have a 'wife' tag...

  • You just stole my thoughts about indian women here....

I gave up watching hindi movies coz first of all the idea of stealing it from hollywood movies sux. Second, lately all movies r coming out with "bewafa" wifes and how the passion grows with multiple affairs.

Call me a not a modern thinking guy, I believe in Indian culture and the beautiful values it has taught me here. I respect Indian ladies for there simplicity and not-a-bewafa attitude. No wonder it hurts to see new westernised version of indian culture coming out lately...thanks to NRI's moving to INDIA along with NRI-wifes.

I havent seent any of those movies and now that u have told much about it...I wud prefer not to see them in my life eva.

Agree with you st000nie, its always better to watch humourous movies rather than some f*cked up version blindily copied from hollywood version.

    Take care and hugzzz

Does India still practise these out-of-date born-to-die-for-husband kinda attitude? I'm shocked...

  • well...i got no idea what movie you guys are talking about..but i understood your point st000nie..boy, don't i love this kind of discussion..been a while since a post one!

i don't know about india..but in M'sia..i am proud to say..nothing that sort of things happen..there is an equal rights for women..even though we are up holding indian culture..we are taking what is relevant to this period with us and leaving the irrelevant 'customs'..

and i'm certainly proud of it!

  • I’m a movie freak who even watch out for freaked movies…
Good u didn’t saw barsaat… it would have topped the list… till end Bobby Deol couldn’t decide whom should he marry and he loves whom…

There are plenty of scraps on this line…

Coming to Shabd I went to watch for Aish… she looks so gorgeous… ooh my my…
That movie was pathetic too…but I loved one dialogue of that movie… when Aish comes late home… and Sanjay Dutt says…
“Tum ghar chahe jitney baaje aao par jab bhi aana mere liye aana” (some what like this)
    this says it all…

We had a tough time watching bewaafa too… we kept on commenting continuously….

I got the message from your post… don’t waste 100 bucks on “No Entry”…
    Fine dear………….

    Hugggggzzzzzzzz

By Blogger PuNeEt, at 8/31/2005 05:56:00 PM

  • hi st000nie

i watched shabd only to look at aish clothes..the movie..bogus...these movies n serials show sati-savitri wife who take all abuses with a smile n remain with wife-beater husbands..damn..no1 lives for herself..live only for others..they dnt understand if they r not happy..hw cud they make others; happy..the same thoughts was potrayed by paulo coehlo in novel'eleven minutes'..tc

  • i tried 3 times but couldnt comment on yr blog

By Blogger Dewdrop, at 8/31/2005 07:53:00 PM

  • oh now that I could, I'll re type what I meant to say..
I havent seen any of the movies you talked abt but can only say that bollywood movies today are all abt glam locations, palatial houses, seductive dances and crappy storyline. Oh, and tht no entry song is the silliest I've heard ...dil kee gali vich no entry something..gosh :)

By Blogger Dewdrop, at 8/31/2005 07:55:00 PM

  • lol Dewdy!

st000nie it's sad yes...women need to stand up for their rights, their freedom and sense of self...it's appalling that in this century women still get blackmailed n forced into unpleasant and disagreeing r'ships like that.

z000nie I agree...Indian culture is the richest in the world I think...but look at Bollywood now...like Dewdy said, it's all abt a pretty face, glitz n glam...but within the glamor they still try to portry Indian culture...like wut Bewaffa did - it's sheer contradiction!
